# Materials

Materials are an important aspect of the overall economy. They are needed for aspects such as:

* Increasing Chainmon Potential
* Resource for Crafting and Building
* Upgrading Abilities

## Obtaining Materials <a href="#materials-obtainingmaterials" id="materials-obtainingmaterials"></a>

Materials can be obtained from various sources:

* Defeating wild Chainmons
* Finding them in the world through e.g. chests
* Farming and Processing via Housing and Crafting
* Rewards from events, challenges, quests and the Battle Pass

*Obtained Material Rank is dependent on your Adventure Rank and World Tier. The higher the tier, the higher the base rank of materials found in the world.*

### Upgrades

All Materials come in different ranks from 1 to 10. You can upgrade any material from a lower rank into the next higher one for 3x the lower material.
